Server logs

Like most websites, our server records your IP address with each request the app makes, for security and to fix problems. The app's server keeps these logs for 5 days; the web server in front of it keeps its access logs for about 5 weeks.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it except with the services that run the app: our own server, Google Firebase (push notifications), Google AdMob (ads) and, if you use it, Google sign-in.

Ads

The app shows ads from Google AdMob, never in the middle of a chat: after you finish a story and tap "Try again" (at most once every three minutes), as one "Sponsored" card in the Messages list once you have finished a story, and as a video you can choose to watch to skip a story's wait. AdMob may use your device's advertising ID. In the EEA and UK the app asks for your consent first; you can change it any time in the app under Profile → Ad privacy choices. Your phone's own ads settings let you reset or delete the advertising ID.

Keeping and deleting

Account data is kept until you delete your account. Anonymous play events are kept to compute statistics. Backups are kept for 7 days.

Delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete my account), or see how to delete your account. This removes your profile, points, endings, plays, reviews, reports, unpublished stories and devices. Stories you published stay available with the author shown as a deleted user.
